Welcome to Potted Up – a place for gardeners, plant lovers, succulent collectors, or anyone else who takes a slight interest. This site was created in 2019 as an attempt to share my passion for both gardening and writing with family, friends and the world. Potted Up will take you on a plant journey; we’ll be sharing tips, photos, ideas and thoughts – so make a cuppa, drag your laptop outside and enjoy!

My name is Abbey and I live in Adelaide, Australia. This crazy plant addiction started in early 2018 when visiting a friends house. I left with my arms full of succulent cuttings and it’s been a mildly concerning obsession (and a great hobby) ever since. I started planting vegetable and flower seeds to watch them grow, too, and found that gardening is a major stress-reliever.
Aside from gardening, I love to write. In 2019 I graduated with a Bachelors degree in Communication and Media – which basically means writing for the public. I learnt a bunch about blogging and developed an interest in social media management. So, here I am, a whole heap of succulents and a degree later, trying to merge all of those passions into one.
I’m certainly not an expert gardener. I’m eager to learn a thing or two along the way while engaging with readers and followers. You’ll find a variety of plant-related posts here. Whether it be a list of favourites, a review of a plant expo or a story about my gardening trials and errors, I hope you’ll be entertained.
